Larry Kudlow

Lawrence Kudlow is a leading authority on a wide range of economic matters, having advised presidents and other politicians, authored numerous articles in newspapers across the country and appeared on countless television news and financial programs. He is presently CEO of Kudlow & Co., an economic and investment research firm in New York City.

Kudlow co-hosts CNBC's highly regarded America Now daily news program, covering politics, business and economics. He is a regular panelist on other shows, as well, including Hardball With Chris Matthews and The McLaughlin Group. Kudlow also is an economics commentator for CNBC and a regular guest on Market Wrap, Squawkbox and Business Center. He is a contributing editor and editorial board member of National Review magazine, as well as a columnist and economics editor for National Review Online. Kudlow is also a regular op-ed contributor to the Wall Street Journal, Washington Times, San Diego Union-Tribune and the American Spectator. He is a Brain Trust columnist for Investor’s Business Daily. He is also the author of American Abundance: The New Economic and Moral Prosperity, published by Forbes in January 1998.

For many years, Kudlow was chief economist and senior managing director of Bear, Stearns & Co. Recently, he was chief economist of ING Barings, Schroder & Co. Inc. and American Skandia Life Assurance Inc. He has also served as economic counsel to A.B. Laffer & Associates in San Diego.
Kudlow was a member of the Bush-Cheney Transition Advisory Committee.

During President Reagan’s first term, he was the associate director for economics and planning, Office of Management and Budget, Executive Office of the President, where he was engaged in the development of Reagan administration economic and budget policy. Kudlow served as co-chairman of the Economic Recovery Council in New Jersey Gov. Christine Todd Whitman’s first election campaign in 1993. He also served as a member of Whitman’s transition Budget Task Force. He is a former member of the board of directors of Empower America, a grassroots public policy organization chaired by Jack Kemp, William Bennett and Jeane Kirkpatrick.

In addition, Kudlow has testified as an expert witness on economic matters before several congressional committees, including the Joint Economic Committee, the Senate Banking Committee, the Senate Finance Committee, and the Senate and House Republican Party Task Forces on Economic Growth. He has also presented testimony at several Republican Governors Conferences.

Kudlow was educated at the University of Rochester and Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. He is a member of the Union League Club, the Capitol Hill Club and the National Women’s Republican Club. He is an avid tennis player and golfer. He and his wife Judy live in New York City and Redding, Conn.
