At the age of 23, an rather unusual event marked the life of Tyler Chase: pronounced dead and cremated, he reappeared among his loved ones after a few months, to the great astonishment of everyone.

His death was confirmed following the discovery of an inanimate body on September 11, 2023, apparently victim of an overdose.

Tyler’s precarious existence, which included drug addiction and vagrancy, had made him lose track of his family. The young man had indeed lost his line of communication with his loved ones long before this tragic announcement.

However, Tyler was endeavoring to break free from this negative cycle. He was following a rehabilitation program and was embarking on the path of social reintegration when fate struck him by being falsely declared dead.

A clerical error and a revelation

Claiming to receive social assistance, Tyler was confronted with the amazing revelation of an agent of the Department of Social Services.

According to the computer file, Tyler was no longer alive. That’s what the file indicated, prompting him to prove the opposite and urged authorities to open an investigation.

In December, he was stunned to learn that his parents were mourning his loss, having been given an urn supposedly containing his ashes.

This misunderstanding was due to Tyler’s stolen papers, found on the deceased person who was mistaken for him.

The lack of verification of identity papers led to this tragic error.

This series of events highlights the importance of meticulous verification of identification elements to prevent any misunderstanding or similar tragic situation in the future.
